REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR:
Spring Level 2 Classes: NOT FOR BEGINNERS-you must have taken the basic classes or have work experience in order to take these classes.
Level 2 Props: Friday, May 18th, 10am-2pm, Rehearsal Room 1, Kennedy Center
A more in-depth study of the props department. Examples: Laying out a drop cloth. Stretching a dance floor. Setting up a pit. Mopping & sweeping techniques (yes, there is a trick to it).
Level 2 Sound: Friday, May 25th, 1pm-5pm, Eisenhower Rehearsal Room, Kennedy Center
Building on the basics, you’ll receive a more in-depth knowledge of a sound system’s ins and outs, and clear com. There will be hands on time as well as lecture and discussion.
Level 2 Fly Floor: Wednesday, May 30th, 9am-2pm, Eisenhower Theater, Kennedy Center-
Take some rail cues, get some time up in the grid. More hands on time with a counterweight rail system.
Class space is extremely limited. You MUST have either attended the basic fly floor class, or have had previous experience with a counterweight fly rail system.
Level 2 Stage Carpentry: Thursday, May 24th 9am-2pm, Eisenhower Theater, Kennedy Center
A brief sojourn into the various aspects of stage carpentry. Hand tools, knots, traveler tracks, reading drawings and the like.
Level 2 Follow Spot: Thursday, May 17th. 2 Sessions: 8-12 OR 1-5. Strathmore Hall.
This is hands on time to run a spot light. You’ll listen and respond to cues being called in a theatrical environment.
Level 2 Electrics: Thursday, May 31st, 1pm-5pm. Eisenhower Theater, Kennedy Center
Read a plot and hang/cable an electric from said plot. Signal flow. What does a dimmer do? How does a console talk to the lights? These are some of the questions that will be answered in this class. You must take the basic class or have a working knowledge of entertainment lighting before taking this class.
